Recently, we introduced updates to improve the Digital Voting experience, from participation to completion. Now, we're building on that momentum with a new set of enhancements that make Digital Voting Reports even more effective and intuitive.

These updates are designed to make results clearer at a glance, provide richer context, and align the experience with TownSq's updated look.

And while the look and feel have improved, voting rules and report generation remain the same.

You can explore all the recent Digital Voting enhancements here.

Why It Matters

After a vote is closed, managers often need to review results, share them with board members, respond to resident questions, and, in some cases, consolidate votes collected offline for legal or governance purposes. When reports are hard to read or lack detail, this process becomes time-consuming and frustrating.

With these updates, Digital Voting Reports now offer:

·      Greater clarity, so results are easy to interpret at a glance

·      More transparency, especially for weighted votes

·      Reliable consolidation of offline votes for legal and governance needs

·      Fewer follow-up questions from boards and residents

·      A cleaner, polished look reflecting TownSq’s product evolution

What's New

Here's how the updated Digital Voting Reports help you review and share results with confidence:

1. Intuitive Voting Results

Voting outcomes now appear in a clearer, more intuitive layout, making it easier to understand results quickly—whether the vote is weighted or not.

2. Weighted Vote Distinction

Weighted votes are shown using percentages, reflecting each unit’s voting weight. Non-weighted votes are displayed using absolute numbers, based on one vote per unit. This ensures results are interpreted correctly and consistently.

3. Shareable PDF Reports

PDF reports have been redesigned to provide a clear, easy-to-share summary of voting results for boards and residents, while reflecting TownSq's refreshed style It now includes:[NB1]

·      Voting title and description

·      Start and end dates

·      Quorum status (when applicable)

·      Winning option highlighted in green

·      All voting options with their respective percentages or absolute numbers

·      Write-in (Other) responses (when applicable)

·      A detailed voting list, showing:

            o Total units that voted

o Unit address and voter name

            o Voting weight (when applicable)

4. Expanded Write-In Visibility

When a voting question includes an open-text option, those responses are now visible directly in the reports, adding greater context to decision-making.

5. More Robust Excel Reports

For deeper analysis, legal records, and consolidation of offline votes, Excel reports are now easier to navigate and fuller in detail.

General info tab includes:

·      Voting title, description, start, and end dates[NB2]

·      First name, last name, unit (address), and voting status (yes/no)

·      Total units expected to vote

·      Units that have voted

·      Voting progress (%)

·      Quorum required (when applicable)

All units are listed alphabetically, including those that didn’t vote.

Question tabs include:

·      Voting options organized in columns

·      Each unit’s selected option clearly marked

·      Automatic totals for each option

·      Write-in responses listed (when available)

Offline Votes & Automatic Recalculation

Some votes may be recorded outside the platform and added later for legal or governance reasons. The Excel reports support this by listing all eligible units and using built-in formulas that automatically update totals when offline votes are added—whether the vote is weighted or not.

·      Weighted votes: Totals calculate in percentages.

·      Non-weighted votes: Totals calculate in absolute numbers.

Tip for weighted votes: Set the Excel cell format to Percentage (%) before entering an offline vote to ensure formulas calculate correctly.

6. Excel reports provide a reliable source for auditing, record-keeping, and final result consolidation. Excel Weighted Vote Support

For weighted voting, Excel reports now also include:

·      Each unit's voting weight (voting fraction)

·      Total weight of participating units

·      Totals by option showing vote count and weight

·      Weight displayed in the selected option column

These improvements are now live for all users with Digital Voting enabled. They support clearer, more reliable reporting today, with even more enhancements to the TownSq platform on the way.
